2009 Aging in Place Week Announced
NAIPC is pleased to announce that National Aging in Place Week 2009 will occur from October 12-18. Members use this week to organize educational events that highlight local programs and services that can help seniors live independently in their homes. NAIPC will post a calendar of events in the coming months, so that you can see whether any events are being organized in your area.

Ending Elder Abuse
In response to increasing accounts of elder abuse in America perpetrated by guardians, the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging released a report titled, Guardianship for the Elderly: Protecting the Rights and Welfare of Seniors with Reduced Capacity. This report calls for systematic improvements to the guardianship system, which remains largely unregulated and unsupervised. 

Blueprint To Help Communities Prepare for an Aging Population
The MetLife Foundation, in collaboration with the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) and Partners for Livable Communities, published Blueprint for Action: Developing a Livable Community for All Ages to provide cities and counties with detailed strategies, practical tools and proven solutions they can use to prepare for the large Baby Boomer population.

Members of the National Aging in Place Council are mindful that the future success of businesses that provide senior services and services related to aging in place depends upon the honor and integrity of all persons engaged in the business. To this end, the NAIPC has adopted the following Code of Conduct.
